In Taiwan, one needed to do a full medical and chest X-ray before being granted approval to work as a teacher...

Here in Cambodia there are one too many walking corpses who would never be allowed to work if they were asked to get a real medical...

Permitting such invalids to work deters and impinges on the work of others around them (especially when they take the frustration of their heart and lung disease out on their colleagues, sadly).

Did something happen? A revival of such an old random thread suggests you just had some kind of experience on the topic.

Intriguing indeed.
Nothing happened. The above is as much as I care to say.

The point is: the laxity of the enforcement of laws designed to promote the well-being of all people has many deleterious effects...

The spillover effects of no enforcement and no budget is sad. The example of road safety and road maintenance come to mind.

Just a word about check ups ... I had to get an ultra sound for my boys two weeks ago at Royal Phnom Penh Hospital ... I heard is was top shelf medical care ... had a good experience ... and they had a special promotion for check-ups ... had multiple tests done and thank god above ... all green lights ... everything out the door under $400 usd.

Not super cheap, but super smooth and the staff was great 'crept NURSE RATCHED ... one tough cookie ...

Since RPPH does have quite a gool level of medical healthcare, but is known to be a rip off center, I am curious which types of check ups you have done for less tha $400. I usually do this in Thailand at the Bangkok Hospital and they asked me last time, why I am not going in Phnom Penh, since they belong to the same company. Well, same same, but different...
Driving on Cambodian roads is just like playing a classic arcade top scroller. The only difference is a force feedback controller, the limitation to only one life and the inability to restart, once Game Over
