Since I read here again and again how expensive transfers from Europe or USA, Canada and Australia are to Cambodia, I would like to bring WING Money into the conversation at this point and also ask sometime, who has made what experiences. I have an account there for 4 months and transfer my money from Germany with WORLDREMIT directly to my WING account. So without SWIFT numbers or additional intermediary banks.

The fees at WORLDREMIT are manageably cheap, the money is in a few minutes on the account in Cambodia and I'm really satisfied so far.

I have an account here with a bank and used to transfer money with TransferWise, which was much more expensive. I come with a transfer from up to $ 1000.00 to just $ 31.00 total fees in complete - at exchange rates and until I hold the money in my hands. The fees at Wing are also quite cheap and offers through the many WING agents a very good coverage and supply throughout Cambodia.

What do you all mean???

Now, it is just after 4 AM in Cambodia and everyone is asleep (or just getting home from their Friday night out).

In reply to your OP though, I would say that if it is working well for you and you are happy with the exchange rate and overall service, then just do it.

A little sarcasm is not bad, I am also new here and may first orient myself and learn. Thank you for your contribution and yes, I am indeed satisfied with this way of transferring money, just like to know if other emigrants use it and how their experiences with WING are. Kind regards, CG

That would be much cheaper than $31.00/$1000.

My bank does not send a new card to Cambodia, so I would have to pick up a new card in Germany. By March 2019 I had been able to get money with my credit card at ATM only by worse exchange rate and fees of the ATM Bank and house bank one comes almost to the same amount as I indicated here. Apart from the fees, how are the currency exchange rates comparing Worldremit with Transferwise?

The exchange rate Euro to US Dollar is better with TransferWise, but with TransferWise you can only transfer directly to accounts at banks like ABA, Canadian etc. with SWIFT Code. And there, apart from TransferWise's fees, I was allowed to pay $ 65.00 per transfer separately to "intermediary" banks and $ 10.00 from the Cambodian bank, because it was a foreign transfer. In the end, almost as expensive as Western Union and the money was a total of 4-5 days on the way.

Only with Worldremit one can transfer here in Cambodia on a WING account, or directly by cash collection and one pays just only the fees of Worldremit + small payout fees of WING, with 1000,00 dollar only 1,40 dollar the deposits are toll-free, and you have your money in minutes in your hands...
