a timely reminder that this is not a mongering forum to discuss LT ST and all those other acronyms.
Pattaya Addicts has a very lively Cambodia section for that sort of thing.

No tuktuk in Stung Treng. Nice small town with cheap good hotels.Friendly people. One hour to Laos.
Food is just ok nothing close to Thai food. No breeze in hot season.

Too many pages, didn’t read. Thailand has cleaner beaches, I like that. Cambodia is my homeland so it will always win, except for beaches.

Transport in either country is EZ style, np.
In Chiang Mai or Sihanoukeville we'd own a moto. Not on Samui, BKK or PP though.

Touts in tourist areas of Thailand are becoming more like Mexico - I stopped going to Mexico decades ago.

Never researched Phuket but wasn't impressed in the 90's. I was single then, so...
A CPA buddy was going to retire early there, he liked it a lot.

Being a hotel-nomad sounds reasonable until we decide. Good tip.
This is why I decided not to own, just rent, years ago.
Some drunken chicken farmer moves in next door and I want to just move away.
I quit "getting along" and "working things out" years ago.

thai drug addicted middle-aged horror head ex-bar girl ex-whores are more likely to be the problem. the country is littered with them. those who failed to turn their beauty in to a rich farang catch, or just kept going far too long. they are absolutely BAD news. loud mouthed aggressive persistent in harassing you, change hotel is the only solution.

probably infect the condos too,
