Where to get half decent affordable medical care?

Post by chinesetakeaway »

Miss Chinesetakeaways sibling had an abscess and $1200 later is happily on the road to a full recovery. However although I’m no doctor this seems extortionate. They’re not wealthy and went to a mid tier clinic/hospital in Tuol Kork. I took a look at some of the receipts which include $80 for 8 stitches, $30 each for daily draining of fluid, $400 for various test including diabetes etc.

Anyway, how do khmer get recommendations for clinic/hospitals? Are there Facebook groups that share info on the good and the bad or tips for negotiating?

Not sure if this is an answer to your question, but there's a good thread here about medical care in PP. Also, I encourage anyone who has good or bad recommendations to post them on this thread. It's really useful to have real life recommendations and suggestions available quickly.

I had a life-threatening emergency with a friend one time and you don't always have time to weigh up the best option, so you go with the most available info. We went to Calmette btw and saved his life.
