Where can I keep my small boat for a few weeks?

Post by Haleyharadon »

Hello Expats,

My wife and I bought boat a 9M wooden fishing boat with small motor in HCMC about a month ago. We have spent the last few weeks navigating up the Mekong arriving in Phnom Penh last night. We are wanting a break few weeks from being riverfolk to rent scooters and explore some forests.

Any suggestions on where we could keep our small boat would be greatly appreciated!

Please email me back at [email protected]

Sure someone here will have useful advice.

Perhaps if you ask the guys at the port near sisowath quay up around Chinese house/brasserie due port area they can tell you. Not sure on their English levels but there are several private expat owned boats up that way

With the boat races on this week I don't think PP would be a good place to keep a boat but if you went a few km up the Tonlie to where all those floating houses are / were, there was a floating police station amongst the cham community. If they are still there pay the police.

Find the phone number on Facebook and call. It still works like it’s 1991.

Hey folks, thanks for the advice.

Unfortunately our boat got stolen in less then 12 hrs of being in PP. We had chained up the motor so no one could simply drive away with it, and just tied it up near a few other boats at Riverside park. I guess someone came in the night and tied it to there boat and towed it away. What a bummer.

Are you sure the police / security didn't move it ?

That's a good point. It would be well worth checking into.
