It’s probably fair, it’s not ‘romantic’. Whatever that is. It’s not an unreasonable precaution, IMHO. I’ve no idea how I would broach the subjectkambokiwi wrote: ↑Sat Apr 23, 2022 6:35 pm I want a prenup in both countries actually because neither would be valid in both. I think it’s fair if I keep any property in my country (which I already have) and she can keep any property we buy in Cambodia in the future (which we plan to do). We have absolutely no intention of ever getting a divorce but no harm in planning for the worst. No different than getting insurance really. You hope you never need it but it’s there if you ever do.

You can be sure once her family finds out how much you're worth she'll be after at least half if not all, either that or ostracized from the family, the thought of getting alot of money does strange things to people.
I'm standing up, so I must be straight.

In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

I dont think it is a bad way to "try" to sort out some "things" in the event that the marriage dont work. If you cant discuss such "unsexy" details with your partner you should not get married at all.

You put a question mark at the end.zmth wrote: ↑Sat Apr 23, 2022 11:46 amNot a reply but another question since it is IMPOSSIBLE TO POST A new question i had to do it this way. Is it or is it not required for a usa person to have travel covid insurance or not as last year at some time there was a post on internet, not this website nor forum , titled Cambodia is no longer requiring travel insurancekambokiwi wrote: ↑Sat Apr 23, 2022 2:03 am Just wondering if anyone knows where I can get a basic prenup in Phnom Penh please. My gf and I are getting married soon and I just want a prenup to keep my house in case of any issues down the road. Appreciate any advice if you’ve got a prenup in Phnom Penh before.

Your point isn’t lost, but I think there may have been a few convenient marriages over time, which were planned to have a finite life. Hence all the bloody hoops to go through with immigration, etc.phuketrichard wrote: ↑Sat Apr 23, 2022 8:32 pm HUH???

I think you will find a thesaurus categorises "love-struck" as an antonym to "level-headed," and "googoogaga" an antonym to "logical," and as "she loves me for me," is to "on earth," "walk," to "run." Truly" tokambokiwi wrote: ↑Sat Apr 23, 2022 6:24 pm Thanks to all those who gave some relevant answers. House is not in Cambodia as some suspected. My gf and I have talked about this and she’s happy to not go after my house and I’m happy with her having half the rest (obviously only in a worst case scenario). Both of us are happy and marrying for love so a prenup is just logical and not offensive. Prenups made with a level head are always better than trying to sort it out if you end up drifting apart.
Just throwing in some best-man joshin'. I am truly jealous I am not in the same place. All the best, may you grow old together.
