Where can I buy drapes in Phnom Penh?

Post by Dangerous Dave »

Hi again, everyone. I need to buy drapes to cover a space 135cm wide by 205cm tall, and I need to hang them from a free-standing curtain rod.

Any ideas where I should start looking in PP? There are fabric stores of some sort -- I can't really tell *what* they do, exactly -- on one of the north-south streets just west of Monivong and north of 214, between 214 and Orussey. Is that a good place to start? In particular will they have the rod?

^^ Orussey (check inside the market, first floor, for a bunch of curtain stalls), but Central also has them. Plus there are a few curtain shops on Sihanouk Blvd past Lucky Supermarket on the left heading towards Olympic - but I think they are expensive there.

Orussey is a hard place to shop, there are quite a few curtain stores is you walk on Sihanouk starting at Monivong and going West.
They have high quality stuff, most stores have slightly different selections and prices are similar and a bit negotiable. If you would like quality I would go there,
if you just want a quick solution Orussey will probably be quicker. Other quality curtain stores are scattered throughout the city.
If you're on riverside there used to be a good family run curtain store on St 19, probably around the crossing with St. 136, I don't know exactly but it's on 19 on the side towards the river.
