Thanks for the chart wasabi - that'll be a good future reference I should think.
I ended up getting a Glenmorangie 10 yr old for $29. For my palate and journey thus far into scotches it is just magnificent. Great complex flavour (neat) and long lasting after-taste. Tried it with a dash of water in the second pour but went straight back to neat after that, the water didn't really add to it, at least not for my taste.
Thanks for the suggestions, lots to try out in the future.

Thought of you today JP. We were out at Kirirom National Park admiring the rubbish build-up around the 'no littering' signs and spotted this:
Bodge: This ain't Kansas, and the neighbours ate Toto!

What they didn't leave the bottle too?
I'd like to sniff the cork of that one too.

I'd drag my balls across a mile of broken glass for the privilege of consuming a dram of this stuff: http://www.masterofmalt.com/whiskies/gl ... ix-whisky/ There's got to be a bottle left somewhere.

Is Lagavulin single malt?
I just drink it.

I always thought Chivas was what made Chivas taste like poo.*vladimir wrote:

Chivas Regal is my daily drop - unfortunate your aging palates are too far gone to enjoy it!

For an everyday drink Jameson is hard to beat. At around $16.00usd for a liter. It is nice for the end of the day.
