Wheat bread

Post by soup »

Does anyone know where to buy a loaf of wheat bread for sandwiches? Just regular mass produced sliced wheat bread or whole wheat.

All that I see is over-priced stuff that goes bad in 3 days.

Many of the mini-marts stock bread labeled with the Australian Wheat Board (or similar) logo in red. The plain white bread has too much sugar for my liking, but the wholemeal and multigrain breads are pretty good, and western standard. A little pricey at around $2.10 for a half-loaf, but that's what we use.

ABC's wholewheat bread is pretty passable @$1.50. get 20% off using Pi pay too

Eric Kayser is good but a little pricey

Pelican bakery bread is also good western style bread. Stocked in mini marts all around town

I've been buying this recently

I find it better than AGB bread which is consistently inconsistent and has gone moldy in the past in 2 days. It's also better than Cafe Fresco bread which you literally have to melt your butter onto because you tear a hole in it just by looking at it.

You're fucking welcome.

I find that white bread is like eating cotton wool. Give me a good multigrain bread any-day. Just a pity Cambodia does not have any.

If I can get it in Siem Reap, surely someone must have it in PP. I seem to remember eating multigrain at Khema?

Ever thought to try making your own? It’s a lot of fun and so so good.

Here’s mine. 14 grain Sourdough with home milled flour.
