What do you know about gro-ub jee?
Re: What do you know about gro-ub jee?
Shit...I know this one but can't bloody remember, my missus always makes a drink with them and explained to me what they were. I'm sure they're seeds from a flower, possibly lotus, but I can't quite remember at the moment...must be getting old!

Cheers - not lotus, lotus seeds are about the size of a peanut. These are smaller than sesame seeds.PSD-Kiwi wrote:Shit...I know this one but can't bloody remember, my missus always makes a drink with them and explained to me what they were. What does your missus put them in, juice?

Bitte Kein Lexus is right. In the village where I live the locals use m'reah proeu (local basil) seeds to make it; however I have been told by locals that is the not the original source which seems unknown to the villagers.
As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.

Not even a thank you?! Well fuck you too then...
Seriously though:
-jee=basil
-jee-von-souille=coriander
And yeah, they do taste a lot like tapioca. I haven't had any in a long time though. I've heard jee neag vong being used as well, but I'm not sure if it's for the same stuff or refers to something entirely different.

You're absolutely correct, of course, we saw basil seeds labeled in English in one of the mini marts and it's as you say. Any knowledge of whether it cools your core temperature?

I mixed them in water, let them swell, and then added some grapefruit cordial - the little buggers all climbed over each other to get away from the syrup.
