I disagree.

I'm not sure how he got the job if he needs to ask.

Wear a suit/long -sleeved shirt and tie minimum, no jeans, closed shoes

Maybe he thought Phnom Penh would be like Darwin :D

AFTER receiving a number of complaints from uptight southern patrons at its interstate business class lounges, Qantas will make guests meet higher dress code standards, which will be enforced “at the discretion of lounge staff”. But in a sign Qantas is still in touch with its NT heritage, the company will continue to allow guests at its Darwin business lounge to wear singlets and double-pluggers.

Darwin travel enthusiast Frank West said it would have been a struggle for Qantas to introduce its dress code to the Territory. “I’d like to see them f***n’ try,” he said, laughing between sips of VB. His mate Scott Hillis, dressed in Territory-appropriate business wear – a fetching orange work shirt and King Gee shorts – said the airline’s expectations for its paying customers were unrealistic.

I'll add my 2 cents here (80 riel).

I just returned last march from my 5th trip to Cambodia (2 month stay). On the first 4 trips I ALWAYS was hit up by Tuk-Tuk driver and Moto Drivers with ...... Mr., Mr., Want a Ride? You want Girl? You want YOUNG girl? You want drug? Got to be VERY tiring after a while.

This last trip I mad a point to ALWAYS be dressed long sleeve shirt, slacks, proper dress shoes (with socks) and most times even a tie. Mind you I was tourist and not working. NOT ONCE in two months was I ever ask anything past the initial "Mr., do you want tuktuk/moto/ride?. It was VERY refreshing for a change.

Thought I would toss that your way. If not for work it pays to dress better in Cambodia.
What, Me worry?

washing a tshirt, shorts & undies in the shower evryday & hanging them to dry next to a open window is a big difference to polishing shoes, laundring slacks, business shirts, socks & ties everyfuckingday
