What to bring from USA?
Re: What to bring from USA?
Very mixed reviews....but thanks for mentioning it. I think I'll look for some today just for grins. I may use it on the lower portion to avoid jock itch and marks braces seem to cause.Mr Curious wrote: forget deodorant. In Thailand I found "thai stone", it's a round end stick made of aluminum salts that your rub on wet pits (or feet and it keeps bacteria from growing that makes ya stinko.

Vitamins. It's better in PP, but I could list about 1000 foodstuffs that I can't find down here in SHV that I have a hard-on for.

how can you disagree with me, it's fact. The stuff works GREAT. Has no perfume odor and is cheap as chips and lasts "forever".
you might find a stick of Old Spice Sport stick in Pursat at the corner resto east side of the bridge on Hwy 5. Been a year tho.

matter of fact that two pack cost me 20 baht, most everything in the store was 20 baht. that's 65 cents. This was in Bang Lamung about half hour drive north of the smut zone in Patters, wait that's redundant Got the one in the plastic cover in a 7/11 there. Like I said, it's got Russian text on it too so they must be selling more than a few of em. Small, solid, long lasting, packs easy, really, ask and look for it on your next pass thru Bkk. OR take that pic and start showing it around where you are? I'm guessing it might be pretty popular as one stick will last a couple years easy. And it's cheap. But then again some of em bathe constantly and don't even think about deodorant.
I would also strongly suggest herbs and spices. I always bring some, and vitamins. And Aleve.

works there too. and your feet, so it said on the one package. Just makes the area inhospitable for bacteria growth. it's one less thing to worry about. And easier to pack than western sticks or god forbid spray can stuff? Is Right Guard even out there anymore?NokTang wrote:Very mixed reviews....but thanks for mentioning it. Okay, you missed the fact that I said the reviews on Amazon were mixed. It wasn't me, it was someone else who used the product.Mr Curious wrote:how can you disagree with me, it's fact. Bang Lamung is about a half hour southeast, not north, of Pattaya. We are not living in a "smut zone", it's only those who head for what they smell who can make that claim. I live in a nice neighborhood in Pattaya and the only thing "smut" are the nearby BJ joints which keep things smut wise inside, not on the curb. As for Aleve, there is a generic Thai brand which works albeit I'm not a regular user of the product, preferring the over the counter opium(aka Ultram aka Tramadol) instead for pain or stress.

In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST
Re: What to bring from USA?
I think he's talking about Ban Chang which is southeast, has a street with brothels and some empty hotels. You(both) are correct about Banglamung but no one goes there who isn't Thai or on their way to Bangkok via milk run buses or the mini vans which have now prospered. Not an area for girls which is all most think about.phuketrichard wrote:South east??

I meant what I said. Bang Lamung. And you both know most people think all of Pattaya is a smut zone. Temple on the water? there's some big pier out into the water where they were supposedly building a temple, bout a ten minute walk from where I lived with my gf (seamstress/taylor). Looking right on the water looked like a serious industrial area. That's where I ran into this stuff and picked up plenty. Also a nice cast aluminum wok.
What to bring is a good topic. No one else has any other ideas I guess. Did the OP say how long he was staying for? I'm bringing some BIG cannisters of lemon Iced Tea powder. Water every day is about as boring as rice every day. I wonder if I could bring a 10 lb block of sharp cheddar ?
