- tell them you have reported this problem to WU Central, and that they asked you for branch name and number, and personal details of staff and manager for a formal report/complaint proceedure
ask for their WU branch number
ask for managers name in full, and same for staff you spoke to
take photo's, formally - not as an angry reaction thing
Tell them WU have asked you specifically to do this as they are very concerned that local branch will not discuss a way to resolve this.
Be polite, organised and show that you are writing all this down for a report.

That may change things. They might suddenly fear they could loose their agency.
Good luck.
Jesus Christ, this is a terrible idea. She should just go a different branch. The more she complains, the more likely it is they will "flag" the transactions with notes like "Crazy crying red haired lady with improper documents is trying to collect this money do not give it to her."

I had assumed that all WU branches would have the same issue but it was only until hours of trying to resolve the transaction that the lady told me to go to another branch because their rules may be different.
It was so frustrating though - I was showing her the receiver name (mine) from the app, it's exactly the same as my passport.
She looked at that, looked at her printout (missing my middle name) and just shook her head.

This is my plan of action if I can't get the money today.

Hello, I go to the old school WU on corner of Monivong and St. 154 often, have had a similar issue once and never again. The manager is there during the day and is quite capable of resolving these types of issues with a bit of pressing. They have evening hours also and always deliver. The form they have is the mini one with 4 lines to fill out as opposed to the new school WU's around that have the long one page form and all of these WU's cannot ever deliver due to some minor and neurotic issue. Rec. name has to be exactly as in Passport and Passport is req'd as is MTCN and sender name as they put it in on their end and the exact amount etc.

The names were perfect on my end.
The middle name got lost in cyberspace for some reason.

I've been doing WU payments to myself using WU online for several months so this was not a new thing.
Rozzie- I can't help with the WU issue but for the future, perhaps consider AudSmart. I haven't checked the latest WU transfer rates but years ago I used it to transfer money to someone that didn't have a bank account and the rate was quite poor...as are rates for OZ banks>Cambodia banks transfers. This is where AudSmart, Transferwise and OFX come in with better exchange rates. If you do regular transfers of amounts (I worked out up to $A10,000) AudSmart is best coz they absorb the $US10 and $US55 that ABA will charge for incoming Swift transfer and Intermediary bank fees. Over approx. $A10,000 I found Transferwise or OFX are better. I posted on this here: post408396.html#p408396

hello again Roz,
had the same thing happen once- somehow their system had my name w/out middle name as in passport and the mgr and I went back and forth a bit and she contradicted herself and put me thru the asian mind game and i got western and snotty back at her too but, in the end, after befriending the guard with free smokes etc she accepts me well now and I have no issues there - at night the women there are also accommodating. I would imagine the Naga WU works too but my expectations are usually just that - expectations.

I learnt something. Not all WU are the same.
Banks are very rigid but I went to a small Wing shop and she had no issues.
I’ll look at the other options though, thanks everyone!
