Supermarkets like Lucky's Thai Huat etc have their meat labeled "Australian", "Cambodian" etc. The best prices for imported meat I think is LSH. Contact here http://www.lshcambodia.com/index.php?Contact_Us As far as I can remember the Australian beef was cheaper than local. Also if you want such things as sausage, smoked bacon, mince, Smokey dah Boar deliver free anything 2kg or over. They are very good and prices also good. Check site here http://d2d-cambodia.com/restaurant/smokey-dah-boar/

There are also a lot of good international restaurants here, Chinese, Japanese, French etc.

KFC. Cheaper than a tin of tuna, better than a pot of noodles.

Given that China has fake beef (http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/m ... at-scandal), I don't see how you can be getting sick from local beef. Just make sure you buy fresh produce. Look at the expiration date if you're buying in a supermarket and look for signs of freezing/age. I buy all my meat from the local markets and have never been sick from it. I've had food poisoning maybe three times. Once was from eating old cooked chicken, once from old milk and can't remember the other time or two, but it's typically been due to my own mistakes.

"Man, this milk has been sitting there for a while now. Hmmm, kind of smells a bit off and tastes funny... Whatever, don't want to waste it!"

Fast-forward 11 hours and I'm puking and shitting my ass out for two days straight... Way to go BKL!

The strip you show does have some fat on the outside which is a good sign and a little marbling on the inside, also a good sign. I would hazard a guess and say that its imported beef, but not top quality. Whoever cut it left some sinew/tendon on the outside which is something a good meat cutter would never do. In the US I'd rate it as Select which isn't the best.
