I want to clear up some misunderstanding about the Chinese

Ask us anything. Cambodia Expats Online has a huge community of long-term expats that can answer any question you may have about life in Cambodia. Have some questions you want to ask before you move to Cambodia? Ask them here. Our community can also answer any questions you have about how to find a job or what kind of work is available for expats in Cambodia, whether you're looking for info about Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, or anywhere else in the Kingdom. You're also welcome to ask about visa and work permit questions as well, as the immigration rules change often, especially since COVID-19. Don't be shy, ask CEO's community anything!

What if he's a paid gov spook here to propagandize? If the PRC wanted to silence foreign criticism in Cambodia they would slowly and steadily infiltrate and take over platforms like CEO. There is a rumor that Prince Group was the final purchaser of The Phnom Penh Post last year. China recently invested $150 million dollars into Reddit.

If this thread was an imminent response to all other threads about the Chinese here asking "are they taking over", would you still applaud?

" I want to clear things up". I want you to change your opinion about us as a whole. Why? I asked if he wanted to be friends and he said no. What is the reason?

You were more suspicious of the Kookmin bank guy and he had a much more credible story. His English was way better than this guy who claims to use 3 translation services and pick the best one. As Mr. Weiner put it, you could not do the same with Chinese.

Remain critical please. We are treated like the enemy in a war.

Sure, we have had a couple transparent shills, your observation regarding the 50 cent army is valid without spilling over into paranoia.
I don't see it though, in this case.
Given that nearly everyone else is being rude to him, I think some balance is in order.
That hardly translates to applause.

Funny timing that my Internet at home stops working so quickly after I google images for Winnie the Pooh and write that post. I need to use mobile internet to write this. I'm not saying its related but I didn't use any VPN and my provider is normally very stable. Going to fold a tinfoil hat now

This is the crux of it. Why does he want us to change our opinion?

With that thread title, he comes in under the premise that we misunderstand the Chinese.. That is already a loaded assertion. So, he thinks we've got it wrong/out of perspective and it needs to be righted?

Given this, naturally members are going to be suspicious as to his intentions and whether he is a PRC operative...and have reacted accordingly imo.

Especially that it's a Chinese. In nearly two decades of English spoken Cambodia forums not even one Nigerian, Russian, Philippino or Bulgarian has wanted to clear up some misunderstandings about all the numerous stereotypes concerning their country and culture. They, frankly, don't give a shit, the same way I don't when I read someone from my country did something bad. I didn't do it, nobody is writing about me thus it doesn't really concern me.

Why doesn't China, the largest population, not simply eat the others?
