Visit and re-entry

Post by paul2d »

I plan to visit Cambodia in April. During the one month visit I will also want to make a trip to Vietnam. Will I have to buy a visa to re-enter Cambodia on the way back. From what I read that seems to be the routine. But I often get things wrong. Please advise and thanks in advance. Regards

Yes, as you’re visit appears to only be short term. You will need to apply for the T-type (Tourist) Visa on Arrival, $30, valid for one month and single entry only. When you re-enter you will need to do the same again.

Another option is to apply for the e-Visa (electronic tourist visa) in advance online at the only official website, https://www.evisa.gov.kh
This is more expensive than the VOA, but saves pages in your passport and means you don’t have to waste any time waiting for your VOA to be issued at the border.

You are correct.

1 month tourist visas are single entry. So if you leave the country you will need a new visa when you return.

Hi Paul, yep, you'll have to buy a second Cambodian visa. Tourist visas are single entry entry only.
As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.

Keep in mind that it's hot as hell in Cambodia in April and the whole country kind of shuts down and transport gets clogged from April 13-16 for Khmer New Year festivities. That's a good time to go to Vietnam.
