Can you sum up the process? How much? What did you have to do, etc?
There is an immigration office across from the airport. I went there and they gave me an extension on a tourist visa for 1 year. I don't remember the cost, but that place is too high profile for them to try to clip you there.

First of all, what they did was illegal, and second of all, that is probably that most out of the way place you could possibly go to do it.

"Too high profile to clip you"?

That has to be a joke, right? We're talking about the same Cambodia where they have completely fake "health check" stations at the land borders to con gullible tourists and where police in full uniform can be regularly seen doing the rounds at obvious brothels to collect their payments. I really hope you're joking about it being "too high profile to clip you."

And again, they likely charged you the same price you'd pay anywhere else.
