Visa Run via Kep Border

Post by Jacobincambodia »

Anyone done the visa run via Kep to Vietnam? I need to run there tomorrow as they gave me a tourist visa instead of an E visa. And given that I live in Kompong Som, that's the closest border for me. Could anyone share their experience? Thanks.

Depends what countries passport you hold.If you are on the visa exemption list, then its worthwhile. Otherwise you will need to apply for a visa which will take between 1-3 days to receive and it will cost you ( I think) $45 for 30 days. In that case it may make more sense and be cheaper to go to thailand via Koh Kong instead.
You apply for the visa at the Vietnamese embassy in Sihanoukville btw.

Hotdigr, would it matter about his vietnam visa? as all hes doing is getting stamped out crossing the road to the cambodian immigration getting a new visa and getting stamped back in again?

Using ANY land border u ALWAYS need be stamped into the next country before the previous country will issue u a visa or re entry stamp.
