I need to do my first visa run. Is it possible to stamp out of Cambodia, wait ten minutes and then stamp right back in?

I'm guessing no to the above. If i do need to stamp into vietnam will i be okay just arriving ( ive read where ppl say yes) or for sure do i need to book vietnam visa online or at Cambodian embassy?
Out of curiosity - why do a visa run to Vietnam when you can get a visa extension in Cambodia ?
My EG visa extension expires on the 20th. Nothing else can be done but a visa run according to travel agents.
EG to find work. Now that i have a job AND letter of employment an EG cannot be changed to EB. I must do a visa run then switch it to a EB with WP

Try another agent. Lucky Lucky were telling me the same thing. I checked with Khmer Views on St. 172 and they said that if I had a letter of employment, they could change my EG to EB without me having to do a visa run.

That's the way it should be. It makes no sense that after getting an EG eos, which is ostensibly a 'looking for work' eos, that once you have found work and have the necessary documents to proceed with an EB eos and/or work permit, that you must leave the Country first and then come back in. That's idiotic

Add another 5 USD for the friendly smiling Cambodian officials which you would not pay at the airport you look at 17 USD total plus perhaps local transfers in PP.

60 USD Air Asia promo plus airport transfers are more costly. The bus trip will be a bit shorter once checkin and airport transfer is considered. The bus will leave you with around 45 USD more in your wallet. I should add that food in Bavet is NOT good imho. Bring your own snacks, I always wait till HCMC.
Ive decided to make my run next weekend to maximize my visa time allowences.

Going to cheap way too. So I'll take your recommendation of booking a bus to Bavet. Giant Ibis goes there correct?
Yep, as does Capitol and several others that are cheaper. Check for those going to Vietnam. There are also quite a few Vietnamese companies doing the route. The trick is to get a ticket to Bavet at half price or so. That might turn out to be complicated and you might have to ask at several places before succeeding. Bring some snacks as food in Bavet did not look inviting to me. Plus post your experiences as other could make use of your update. Good luck!

I'd still check out another travel agency if I were you, to see if you can get it done here. It doesn't hurt to ask and would be cheaper in the long run.

But if you decide you need to go, definitely give us a trip report. :thumb:

Read the comments in the Visa section, and got 2 questions.

My situation :
I work as a tourleader in Vietnam, but I live in Phnom Penh (since 11 years). I stay here just on a regular visa (tourist visa). January next year I'll be 55 and then I will apply for a retirement visa.
I'm from Belgium and in October I went to BKK to make a new passport. Flew back, took a tourist visa, as I was going to work in Vietnam the next week. On return, my passport would have arrived in PP, make a new visa etc...

4 Days before my scheduled departure for Vietnam, a motorbike hit me on the knee, spend 6 days in hospital etc.
I am out for at least 2 months. I managed to extend my tourist visa for 1 month (through Lucky Motorbikes). I still need surgery, but Lucky Motorbikes told me I couldn't get another extension. So I will have to leave the country.
Being from Belgium I do need a visa to enter Vietnam.

My questions :
- Any experiences in going to Immigration (near the Airport) and plea my case, would they give me another extension ?
- Bus to Vietnam, done it many times. Can I just leave Cambodia, stay 10 min and get back in ? Without a Vietnam visa ?

My extension runs out on December 10, so I still have time.

Thanks

I just did this 2 weeks ago. Yes you can stamp into Vietnam and walk around the building and stamp out.

I did call them Brody. Good tip. She was going to charge me $130 just to change it (her fee) plus the cost of the EB visa. So it was cheaper to do a border run. I also wanted the Vietnam stamp.

Just after you leave passport control coming back to KoW on the left aways is an ordinary looking restaurant. They often have a delicious fish soup. no pizza
