Using ABA visa to pay in Riel
Anyone know if I can set up a riel account with ABA (or any other bank) and then pay directly in riel when billed in riel?
Re: Using ABA visa to pay in Riel
Yes, you have the option to open a Riel or a dollar account.

ABA doesn’t allow you to link a VISA debit card to a riel account which means an exchange rate will apply when paying in USD at places which price in KHR. Either the merchant will give you a USD ‘equivalent’ price or charge you in KHR and ABA will convert.

I haven't used it but I have an Acleda savings account and I note in the app under 'accounts' it's also got 2 'Wallet accounts'..one in Riel and the other in USD...and I could transfer in and out I think from my savings account. Then, I'm thinking you might be able to use the 'Scan QR' in the app and pay from the Riel wallet? I've seen a few places like my hairdresser with an Acleda QR sign. Sorry haven't looked into this enough but maybe other members with Acleda members might know more.

Just checked with ABA, their ABAPay (QR Code) allows you to choose to pay from USD or KHR accounts. So that works!clutchcargo wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 2:15 pm I haven't used it but I have an Acleda savings account and I note in the app under 'accounts' it's also got 2 'Wallet accounts'..one in Riel and the other in USD...and I could transfer in and out I think from my savings account.
