Makes good sense to carry some riel.

How many clueless tourists have you seen trying to pay a moto or tuktuk with a $20 for a $2 ride.

I usually carry Riel and $us. I carry about $5 in reil in left shorts pocket, $1 notes in right pocket and other larger notes in shirt pocket. I only reach in and extract what I need and don't stand there flipping through a bundle for all to see.

Get good with your numbers. Understand the unit muay mern. (10 000 real) and convert every fuckin usd to real at something like 4150. That's 150 real you just made next time you buy two beers.... adds up.

That's a great rate! where do you go for that? When I left a few weeks ago 4050 was the best I could find, and now at "Ly hour" it's down to 4040

The exchange rate was down to 4027 yesterday in Phnom Penh. Best to just work on 4000real to 1usd.

Can anyone see the day in the near future when Trump bans the movement of new dollar notes to countries like Cambodia, along with penalties to banks for moving $ paper money. '' America first '' means they print money for american people to use , not every person around the world, that is unless they abide by American rules or pay the extra.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Haven't been to town for nearly 3 months now. Last time we did it was running at around 4100. Depends on timing, sometimes only 4020. Still, better off in my pocket than theirs.

I may be naïve, but what do America get out of doing this?
