When we had my daughters we had everyone turn up with fruit, we had so much I thought about renting a stall at the market the get rid of some. The wife loved it though. Whenever she goes to visit her friend after they have had a baby this is always the gift given.

Money is the universal gift if she is already home. If she is at the hospital as basket of food and drink is a good thing.

This is the standard milk gift for folks in hospital. It's for the mother not the baby.
