Samouth,, I curious to know how you can do engineering calcs etc, on a buildings foundations when you don't know if it would be built on solid land or on a filled in lake like Boeung Kak lake , where there is no solid bed for the foundation piles to sit on ..

I thought the whole of Phnom Penh had soft foundations, basically a filled-in swamp? I think every building needs piles.

Here is the soil test result. We use a lot of data from this one to calculate. There were a lot of tests to be done to get this just this one piece of paper. Hope this help.

There are some decent buildings which were built following the technical. Wind load and earthquake load were included in the calculation.

I am still keeping my finger crossed. i am not really sure if i will do well in the defend. I wish i had not learned this subject. Utterly boring.
