How can you remove microplastics from tap water at home?

First of all, the smallest microplastics measured by Orb in tap water were about 2.5 micrometres, although most considerably bigger. It’s important to understand the size as this will impact the type of filtering required.

What filter should you choose?
As we don’t know enough about microplastics in drinking water yet, there is no definite answer. For most circumstances, a carbon block filter is an affordable and environmentally friendly way to keep the family safe from microplastics. Carbon Blocks faucet filters: the most efficient ones, such as TAPP 2 remove contaminants down to 2 micron. That Genius's choice was right on the money.

I'm having frozen water cube all the time, I don't know if it counts as drinking tap water.

Another good example is, liquid food coloring will pass straight through a water filter.

My filter has:

1 micron polypropylene sediment filter, filters rust, sand, silt particles
10 micron carbon filter, reduces chlorine, taste and odours
5 micron CTO carbon filter, which does the same as the other carbon filter.

My understanding of carbon is that is can block bacteria as well though. Anyway I've been drinking water from it for a year and I haven't got sick, which is the main thing.

I also have a UV filter which I don't use because when it's connected it's on all the time, and when you turn on the tap the water that comes out is bloody hot from the UV light. Tried a few different water flow switches so it would only turn on when water is flowing, without success. Once it came on it didn't turn off again when the tap was turned off so I gave up and just use the three stage filter on its own instead.

When I replace the filters maybe I can improve on the selection. Water in PP seems pretty good though, behold the reassuring smell of chlorine.

Pour it into a jug and let it sit and the chlorine dissipates after a while. How long? Until you can't smell it any more.

I would be surprised if the bottled water most people buy is actually anything but tap water.

Of course you dont get some ancient pure spring water when you buy a 500riel water-bottle. However they do run it through some filters first.

If Coca-Cola did this in the UK, what do you think they do here?
