Swab test before leaving Cambodia?
Re: Swab test before leaving Cambodia?
Do I need to make an appointment before going to get tested or is it just a walk in thing? What time would I need to go there by to get the results the next day?
Re: Swab test before leaving Cambodia?
No appointments. Doesn't matter what time you get tested, all test results/med certs are issued the day following testing between 1700 - 1900hrs.
Open for testing 7 days
0730 - 1200 (although testing doesn't start till 0900)
1330 - 1730
It can get extremely busy at times, so allow for at least 3 hours. I've been tested there 3 times, shortest wait was appx. 30 mins, longest wait appx 3.5hrs.

Thank you! And is this the correct address? Street 566 & Corner with 289, Phnom Penh. Just want to be extra sure.PSD-Kiwi wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 11:33 pmNo appointments. We went at about 9am on Tuesday and the wait was less than an hour. We went to pick up the results on Wednesday and that was a bit more chaotic and took a little longer because they completely ignored the numbered ticketing system. In the end it all worked out without any issues, and for the advertised price.
Re: Swab test before leaving Cambodia?
Hello. I found this thread in search for answers for my particular case, and in spite of I can't find a conclusive answer here, this thread is the closest one to it.
Having said that: I must go to Thailand at the earliest possible date. One of the requirements to enter Thailand is having a PCR test done at the National Institute of Public Health in Phnom Penh (Only place in Cambodia), apparently done with the Sansure Biotech Covid 19 pcr kit. A test can be done on arrival (which would be great really), but it is required by the charter flights that the affiliated travel agencies to the Thai embassy work with and/or the 2 transit city airports available to get into Thailand at the moment, Singapore and Kuala on departure. Therefore, it seems clear that a negative PCR test prior 72h of flying is needed if one wants to fly into Thailand.
This afternoon, I visited a few agencies for a "second opinion" and other alternatives to the charter rip-offs the travel agencies associated to the Thai embassy are perpetrating. These fees range from $540 to $570 (one way), they leave once or twice a month and the trip lasts about 1h, whereas the "independent" agencies charge about $400 and they stop for 12h at Singapore (Where you get recluded in a CoVid designated area), but they are flexible, can change ticket and they have flights everyday. The third alternative is travelling solo via Kuala Lumpur, and this can be one for under $200 (Paying for a flexible date ticket, about $150 if you go for the stingier non-refundable/non-flexible option).
All these three options, as said, require a PCR test done by the National Institute of Public Health in Phnom Penh, which costs $130.
One of the agencies I visited today, told me that if I test positive in Phnom Penh, they will reclude me in some hospital here for 14 days at my own expense. This is a crazy scenario that would make me lose the flight I paid for, pay again for the Fit2Fly certificate ($40) and the ASQ hotel reservation it is required to book to obtain the COE (Certificate of Entry) into Thailand, plus delay the coverage of the also compulsory insurance needed to enter Thailand ($130). Needless to mention the $1200 quarantine fees here. A total disaster.
In short: Had anybody gone through this process of flying to Thailand recently? How was your experience with it, did anyone get a positive PCR from the National Institute of Public Health or do they play their game, pocket the money and just give you your pass if you obviously look healthy instead of giving you unnecessary shit? Are there somewhere positive/negative statistics or links from this National Institute of Public Health regarding PCR results that are available to the public to see?
When you hear of papayas, cheese and Cocalola testing PCR+, all these doubts become reasonable.
Thanks for your help.

I don’t see a workaround here unless you want to fly to another country that will let you in without a covid test, take the test there, then fly to Thailand.

Re: Swab test before leaving Cambodia?
did u expect them to allow you on the plane if u tested positive??One of the agencies I visited today, told me that if I test positive in Phnom Penh, they will reclude me in some hospital here for 14 days at my own expense.
note this;
Please note that the Thai Embassy may take up to 15 days to issue the Certificate of Entry (COE) into Thailand.
