Staying in Phnom Penh with my daughter to work, would like to meet new people.
Hello,
I am coming during the summer holidays to teach and give private lessons (already arranged) in Phnom Penh for two months during the summer holidays.
I will be bringing my 11-year-old daughter with me.
We will be there from July to the first of September.
We are also coming for a week at the end of this month - February -, to get an idea of the life there.
We have travelled widely, but this will be our first time in Cambodia.
I would like to get to know some new friendly people there, in February and/or later in July to September, who would like to meet us, and perhaps show me the ropes, let me know a little about the life there. It would also be nice to make some new friends.
If anyone would like to meet us and go for a coffee, please send a message.
Any tips on safety and adjusting to the way of life would be greatly received.
We will also be spending a week or so in Manila and in Bangkok, or somewhere else in the Thailand.
I also want to get to know the nightlife there, and would like some advice there too, and if it's safe to leave her alone in the apartment for a night once or twice a week while I go out and have some drinks and get to know the nightlife there.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, or if anyone wants to meet up for a beer or a coffee, let me know by sending me a message.
Thank you!

Exploring the nightlife in Manilla and Bangkok too?
while leaving your 11 year old daughter locked up alone in the "apartment" there as well?
What a fab family experience.
I am sure you will have no problems getting PM's from guys with no qualms about dragging you away from your daughter to show you how to perform your real duty as white man in Asia.

That's a bit harsh, isn't it ? Dads need adult time too.SternAAlbifrons wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 12:00 am Exploring the nightlife in Manilla and Bangkok too?

Yeah, but 11 year old daughters need responsible fathers if nobody else is around to supervise them. You don’t go partying with your young kid alone in a hotel room.

i retreated from my original harsh judgement, because i know i can sometimes be a prude, and maybe i need to update my values into the modern world a bit more.
But on further reflection, i reckon Fax, Pczz and my first intuition probably hold true.
imo only

Relax keyboard warriors. I didn't say anything about "whoring" - and if I had asked if there was someone I could find to look after her while I went out for a few beers, your replies would have been equally condemnatory. Just trying to get to know some people. That's all. Relax.

If it helps, I am sure I can recommend at least two or three reliable Khmer ladies who could look after your daughter if you would like a night or two out on the town in PP. All three of them have taken care of my nieces at various times and I would trust them with my life. Don't go public, just send me a PM and I'll happily make the introductions.markeatsabuttie wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 3:14 am Relax keyboard warriors.
