Something like a legitimate psychosis or do all problems stem from drugs? What can it be well maybe SCHIZOPHRENIA? Does he have it?
Thanks but no hes a smart clean Cambodian kid
I don't understand this response. There is nothing about being smart or clean or Cambodian that would prevent a person from becoming mentally ill, and psychosis isn't always drug induced.

Haha, I've heard the word troppo before. It's what happens when it's hot as hell and you go crazy because of the heat. Commonly happens here too to us expats but to a "slightly" milder degree.

I still don't think a drug made your friend like that. What drug lasts 4 days? There are numerous drugs that can trigger schizophrenia in people who have it despite never having had episodes before.

Look at antipsychotic medicine. The Soviet hospital is the go to place for this sort of thing.

It sounds like so far you have done the right thing but man the odds are against you here especially since he's Khmer. Cambodian families normally chain the victim to a pole beneath the house to deal with the mentally ill.

For your own safety you should not keep him close longer than necessary. If you ever feel unsafe find another way. He's fine but you know, until he's not. It's hard to prepare yourself but your highest priority must be your own safety.

You say he's like a son. Where is his biological family? Is there any chance of getting him abroad for proper treatment? Even at the Soviet hospital they're not really up to standards.

There is the NGO route but probably easier if he's someone's someone.
