You don't know what happened in his life. Or with his mother. Maybe he's a real dickhead indeed or sometimes people take revenge in different ways, he's ok, that's all that matters for now.

Nah, that's not correct.

I've opened accounts at both on a number of occasions, and they will/would open with a passport and tourist visa and a $50 locked in balance.

That $50 was reduced to $10 locked in balance, if you supplied lease etc - they gave you a resident account vs a tourist account.
Didn't say you couldn't, just you shouldn't and they were very difficult a couple o years ago. i just tried to open a euro account at ACLEDA head office and i was asked to produce a document from the sangkat proving my address. When i got my driving license renewed at the ministry they did not ask for an address, but this year at AEON i had to have the same Sngkat document. You can still get lucky sometimes, but I think its getting less and less likely

ACLEDA specializes in making life difficult. Local Khmer simply shrug and deal because they are everywhere, especially in nowhere province where their family live.

A few years back I deposited traveler’s checks there. It literally took all day to get it done.

What the fuck? A guy scams his loving, concerned mother out of money to hang out on Street 136 and your response is "maybe she deserved it"? Sounds like you've got issues, man.

That's because no one else has used a traveler's check since 1993.

They have these machines now that you put a card into and they spit out money.

PIEMAN is CEOs roving reporter. He sees more than the rest of us and knows who is up who and who has not paid.

His deeds and kindness to people he finds in trouble is worthy of praise.

Good stuff Pieman. Keep up the good work.
