Something has been bugging me lately.
Something has been bugging me lately.
I recently moved to an apartment in an older building. It's comfortable except for one thing. I have been spraying bug spray around the corners of the kitchen before I go to bed (if I remember), and in the morning I find the bodies of one or two big cockroaches. If anyone has got an effective method for eliminating these pests, please let me know. Thanks.

I let my pet tarantulas walk around freely. No roaches, no ants. Theyre good for scaring away people I dont like also. Theyre in their cage at night though cos they love to get all warm and cuddly with me and any female companion I happen to have at the time.

My pet peeve is the dead baby lizards. Wish they would die outside.

Borax?
I had read about making a mix of sugar and baking soda 50/50 in a jar lid and then placing a jar lid of water next to that. I'll try that tonight.

The big cockroaches can fly, so you can clean them out of your place but they'll just fly in from elsewhere.

This is the best powder I have run across.....

You will never get rid of them unless you get rid of your neighbours and all the buildings next door too. All you can do is hope to control them. Some of those sprays keep working for weeks after you have stopped spraying so just keep doing what you are doing but always expect to have to sweep up a few in the morning that are lying on their back.

I suppose that's true. I put a line of bug spray under the door way at night and I usually get one there, so at least some of them are coming in from the hallway (or maybe exiting the room). I also have floor tiles where half of them are marbled brown and if a dead roach is on there, it is perfectly camouflaged, almost invisible.Duncan wrote: ↑Fri Apr 24, 2020 10:27 amrexwell wrote: ↑Fri Apr 24, 2020 7:54 am I recently moved to an apartment in an older building.
