Totally agree with your statement.

A side note:
Although Taiwan Taoyuan international airport is not an international hub for airlines, EVA Air is a Taiwanese airline and uses the airport as it's home bade. EA flies to most major SE Asia destinations from Taiwan. So in essence, Taoyuan airport is the international hub for passengers from Europe and North America flying on EA to SE Asia destinations.

ANYone has been on a Jetstar-flight to SIN, and after on a SIN-flight recently ?? Just to know if you do that, in Singapore you have to check in your luggage again, or its just walking to another gate ?? As the layover is 2h25, in BKK this is bad if you have to check in the luggage again, you ll mis the flight connection, but useally SIN is better oragnised then BKK.
Its maybe a trend, but since Covid i often see tickets with conections you have to check in again, and the website denies responsability if you lose the conection, or is this not really a problem ??
Or if booked al thogether the luggage is always send directly to the (third-flights) destination ??

Re: singapore airlines flights to Cambodia question
I just read, Jetstar is not code-shared with Singapore Airlines, so it looks like you would have to get your luggage and check back in.
Re: singapore airlines flights to Cambodia question
I always search on momondo.be and very often they redirect-you to KIWI.com, Gotogate. com or mytrip.com. As Jetstar is kind of lowcost (or is it not ??), very often you need to check in i would think.
If lossing the connection, better buy 100 dollar more expensive and stay with same airline i think !! ??

Re: singapore airlines flights to Cambodia question
You may want to try to combine trips with different airlines, might be a lot cheaper, I took EVA Air once. Loved it, you were here before right?BklynBoy wrote: ↑Wed Dec 07, 2022 7:41 am I usually take Singapore Airlines JFK-SIN-PP. I been watching the prices for summer and recently the cost rose dramatically. I was curious if anyone has taken Singapore Airlines recently. Any thoughts on the price jump?
About a month ago I saw RT for about 1,050. WHen looking currently it has basically doubled.
There are other options like China Airlines but was curious if anyone knew the reason for price jump w/ Singapore Airlines.
Obv I have time but ...
I just searched and lowest one way fare i see is $592, thats only one way, with combined airlines for Janaury.

JetStar is part of a code share/route agreement with Emirates*. Therefore, baggage is checked all the way through.
But this is not always the case with all such arrangements. Sometimes, the point of departure or the intermediate stop has separate customs arrangements, immigration arrangements, or combinations of the two.
Mixing and matching routes to get bargains might incur unexpected penalties. Such as not allowing sufficient time on the ground to collect and recheck baggage.
*it’s not very well organised, resulting in some uncertainty connecting in Changi to the Phnom Penh flight.
