Re: Siem Reap
Thanks to those who gave solid advice, Mrs Stroppy and I will check these out next time we're in SR. It turns out our friends from Oz are the stay-by-the-pool-eating-western-food types.

Re: Siem Reap
Im in Siam Reap for 5 nights in December. Have been twice before and done Angkor Wat, Thom and Bayon and the popular sites on both occasions. I also hired a push bike and rode one for the 1st time in 30 years ( Its true what they say ypu don't forget it is like riding a bike)
This time Im thinking of doing both and getting a 3 day pass for the park and using the bike to pedal around. A couple of questions is am I biting off more than I can chew in so much as will I need to cover a zillion miles to see everything? will 3 days be too long or is there plenty to see? and something just occurred to me will I need to bring a bike lock with me as I looking to hire a mountain bike and not one of the Mary Poppins bike the locals have

Re: Siem Reap
I think 3 days on a push bike around the temples is probably just right.bigbadbaz wrote:

Many people do 3 days or more with a car or TukTuk, so you should be fine. Get a good temple map.

Re: Siem Reap
i hear they are renting Ebikes there now,
much better for you
unless ur fit an used to the heat 3 days biking around the complex will kill ya.
With a push bike ur going to stay there, all day . With an ebike u can head back during the worst of the day to ur hotel for a rest up

Re: Siem Reap
Angkor Cycling Tour supply locks with their bikes and from what I read they have just taken delivery of new model MTN bikes, so they might be worth a look for a decent rental bike.
Yes sir, I can boogie, I can boogie, boogie, boogie all night long.
