Rocky Red Soil
Rocky Red Soil
Is there a seed I could throw out & grow in that? With mabe a shade cloth?
Just moved backed to new location & the ground is barren. Not a gardner, back says no.
Thinking ground cover low lying 0 maintainance other than wife pulling invasives .
Is it possible.

Re: Rocky Red Soil
sweet potato or pumpkin will cover the bare soil quickly.
you just make some circles with a hoe an mix in manure.
an 80 year old could do it.
they are pretty hardy.
or do you want a lawn?
here where i live, common mint forms a mat like a lawn in shade with little attention. just some water in dry weather.
nice to walk on and good with tea.

Are you setting up a protected habitat for Cobras?
If so then sweet potatoes and/or pumpkins will work well as they will attract lots of rats for them to eat.

No danger of that in my village; the locals ate them all. As a result filet de rat is now the local delicacy.
As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.

Re: Rocky Red Soil
yeah full sun and you just 3/4 bury them
but maybe better to just napalm it weekly so the cobras can't get you.
