Rent a house / appt in SVN

Post by koem »

Hi Expats,

we just came over from Thailand and will spend at least 3 months in Cambodia. I've been here in 2008 (Angkor, Battambang, PP, SHV ++). Man, Sihanoukville has changed a lot! Old times ...

We (my wife and me) would like to rent a house / appt here in SHV (Snookey?). Or an appartment. We both work online and what we really need is good Wifi and we like to cook so a fully equipped kitchen is a must. And then we'll need furniture, bedding sets and other stuff like AC / fans.

I've been looking all over the internet now and didn't find something yet. Just stumbled over this forum and thought: why not give it a try?

Next I think I'll go to Monkey Republic and ask there but maybe I can get some hints / addresses / phone numbers here? Is it wise to go to an agent and he'll show us some places? Drive through the streets and look for signs like "house to rent"?

Ok, thanks in advance! :thumb:

Try this number - 070 798010 . I don't know him, but he's getting good wraps on the Sihanoukville FB real estate page - https://www.facebook.com/groups/333298533478529/

In the house for rent section under Sihanoukville/Bungalows there are two bedroom bungalows with free wifi, cable TV, 32in flat screen TV, overstuffed furniture, aircon, 24 hour security, kitchen etc. MR. Hout may have a couple left, but I know its almost sold out. (Mr Hout is really a nice guy.)

Recently one of the tenants got drunk and left his door wide open. Someone stole his Iphone and a few other things. Mr. Hout (owner) is a reserve three stripe cop and with the tracking on the Iphone he tracked the thieves down, arrested them and got the stolen goods back. That's one heck of a landlord! (if you talk to him tell him Grandfather sent you.)

Might be of help to you. It's 2012 but I think most of the agencies still exist.

Ain't much there (on this link) Richard - there are a lot of real estate places in town apart from Frank's suggestion and places are going up all the time.
