Re: Renewing a UK passport in Cambodia
why dont the uk just do it all online like lots of countries do?
hell even those paddys get to order online and get it delivered!

Re: Renewing a UK passport in Cambodia
Sounds like a pain in the ass renewing a UK passport, NZ pp renewal is extremely simple, complete online form, attach digital photo, pay fee, 7 days later passport delivered to address in Cambodia via DHL.

Sorry for the questions! That is where I was confused, passport address or postal address.jimpson wrote: ↑Wed Jun 13, 2018 5:26 pm AndyKK,
The point of the matter is that since I was in Cambodia and applying for a new passport in Cambodia via the VHS service I gave my Cambodian Address as my address of temporary residence. I also still have a UK address but there would have been no point in using that address to have my passport returned. I would have ended up stranded in Cambodia with no usable passport as I was banned from using my old passport as soon as I applied for a new one.

Always "hope" but never "expect".

Re: Renewing a UK passport in Cambodia
I have literally just returned home from collecting my new UK passport from PP Tower. I saw your post because I need to ask what happens to the visa's in my old passport but I won't hijack your thread for this.
As for the proof of residency, I wasn't aware I needed one which is what I told the woman when I applied for my new passport, and it didn't seem to be a problem.
The whole process took about 10 days. You'll get a couple of texts from DHL updating you on your 'package' and as it doesn't state what the package is and you haven't even ordered anything, you'll ignore it until the second message, where out of curiosity, you'll check the tracking number on DHL website and see that it's come from HM Passport Office and do a facepalm. Then, as it has said your package has been delivered, you'll probably head straight down to PP Tower to pick it up only to be told that the UK staff don't work on a Friday and that you need to wait for the confirmation email from them anyway. You'll then get an email the following Monday telling you that you can only pick it up on a Monday or Thursday but you don't need to book an appointment.
That was my experience anyway. Hope that helps.
Now, can someone look at my thread about visa's from my old passport please? Ta.

The difference between animals and humans is that animals would never allow the dumb ones to lead the pack.

Re: Renewing a UK passport in Cambodia
just take both and use the old passport/visa to enter and exit.
Re: Renewing a UK passport in Cambodia
I confirm that you can exit and enter using the Cambodian visa in the expired passport until the visa expires. This worked for a number of trips.
In my case I had a visa exempt certificate for Vietnam that I could NOT use as it is was related to the old expired passport and had the passport number stated on it.

Did you get a reply from VFS yet? I've emailed them 5 times in the last 2 weeks for a UK passport appointment and been ignored every time.mcam wrote: ↑Wed Jun 13, 2018 8:34 am I've just emailed to make an appointment to renew my passport and wondered if anyone had done this recently. I've understand I need a colour photocopy of every page, 2 photos and my current passport. What have people provided as proof of address? I have a rental agreement in English is that enough?
