Yes, but you were standing around for up to 10 minutes waiting for the motodop you were in a committed relationship, when you'd never have to wait if you just took the first one you saw.
You may also want to consider the fact that rainy season is not finished yet. You save a lot of money by using your own transport.
I'm slow. How do people save more using their own transport during the rainy vs. dry season? I've never known tuk tuk drivers to try to charge more when it's raining.

Not about dry vs. wet. Two separate issues, wet and savings.

1. Rainy season, tuk-tuk is better than a moto, but more expensive

Ah, that actually makes sense. I pretty much take tuk tuks 90% of the time though wet or dry. Tuk tuks are just easier to find and I think safer. I only take motos when I can't find a tuk tuk driver or it's a really short shop or if I'm in a terrible hurry to go and do some corrupt shady lawyer stuff.

^ exactly my thinking too.

I always use tuk tuks unless I am using my company car and driver.

By the way, a very good rule of thumb is that tuk tuks cost double what a motodop will charge.

At this point, I would seriously just buy a bicycle instead at first. No worries about traffic cops, no driver's license needed, no waiting for motodops or tuk tuks, no bargaining when they know you're fresh meat, no worries except locking it up at night. It's what I did my first week in Phnom Penh and it wasn't half bad. Also taught me about traffic "rules" as well.

I personally loathe taking tuk tuks because the ride is horrendous and I've only taken 2 or 3 motodops in my life. Drivers here are suicidal retards.

Call 012 434 558. This guy used to take me to work every morning and was never late and never flaked. I have forgotten his name, but tell him that you need a regular driver. His Englsh is reasonably good. It is also pretty humorous to ride with him because he has an uncanny resemblance to Pol Pot.

in PP a moto is $1 standard unless its a longer journey but no more than $2
a tuk tuk is $2 standard or $4 for a longer journey/more passengers, a tuk tuk from the airport to the night market is $7 to put it into perspective
the least ive paid for a moto was 1-2000riel thats just when i needed a late night dash to the minimart to get erm.. protection :sorry: lol

Wow, thanks so much for the detailed responses. I have had trouble figuring out the standard prices for tuktuks and motos, so this really, really helps. Thanks again1
