Question for mods/admins

Post by StroppyChops »

Hey, what are the chances of having every single thread about American politics start with the words "American politics:" or a code like PolUSA or something?

That way the rest of the world that isn't interested can just ignore those threads?

Please?

I know Gonk's a yank but he doesn't follow the words much unless there's a colouring page...

Are you serious?

Are the number of threads about American politics that dauntingly numerous that you need a special filter put in place so that you're saved a couple extra mouse clicks?

What happens if a thread begins about one topic but then digresses into American politics? What are we to do for you then?

Jeez man, you're like one big, giant, burly, hairy, Outback snowflake.

Keep a stiff upper lip brother...you'll be alright. ;-)

You know I'm a happily married heterosexual white man, right? I'm flattered, but I just can't see you and I ever getting together...

Only rarely. Usually he scrounges Khmer news articles or Facebook to.keep things moving when participation slows down.

LoL!

So, we have a non-yank starting a topic about American politics without 'American Politics' in the title, asking that we make a rule that all topics about American politics have 'American politics' in the title.

I think I follow.

On a serious note, we don't want misleading or clickbait titles, so all topic titles should try and give everyone a good idea of what that topic is about.

And I've been Rick Rolled waaay to many times in the past 72 hours, so maybe we need to make a rule that you must also include the text 'RickRolled' in the anchor text to a link that's gonna get your ass Rick Rolled! :stir:

@ OP. If the topic is about the US then it should be posted in the Rest of the World, and then you decide if you want to go there or not.

But, if you mean that you get annoyed when a Cambodian thread gets taken over by US/UK/Thai politics and comments, then just say so. This is a forum where we all get to participate. Sometimes I play thread nanny, but I am not - and should not be - the only thread nanny here. :-o
As much as possible, we are supposed to be a self-moderating forum. It doesn't always work, but we should be able to make suggestions and discuss/agree/disagree on what we like and don't like on the forum, because we are all adults :smileinbox: or something like that.
Don't leave it all up to the mods.

And btw IMO Rick-rolling is totally sick. :horse: BUT, go ahead if that makes you laugh.
