That article has a lot of incorrect/outdated information. No, you cannot pre-book your quarantine hotel, and haven't been able to do so since Nov/Dec last year, and even when you could there were only 3 hotels which you could pre-book (Sokha, Himiwari and TianYi). The only people who can pre-book accommodation, and only the Himiwari, are A-type (Diplomatic) and B-type (Official) Visa holders. Poor reporting from the PPP, would expect that from the KT's.

Currently, all UK passport holders are quarantined at the Okay Boutique Hotel, the initial reason for this segregation was due to the UK strain of the virus... however they weren't sending all people there who had actually been in the UK in the previous 14 days, only UK passport holders, even if they hadn't been in the UK... typical Cambodian commonsense
P.S. Guests in quarantine can sit by the pool, but are not permitted to actually use the pool.

I did sneakily try to see if I could get assigned to the Okay Boutique hotel on my most recent arrival by stating that I had been in the UK in the past 14 days, unfortunately doesn't work, ended up at the shitty Chinese Le Mont Hotel.

So here's an odd question. I read an article today in the Khmer times about quarantine procedures. It noted the new 556 bed quarantine facility built by the government. It also said that anyone who could not afford to quarantine at a hotel could stay there. I assume they are referring to Cambodians. But technically could a foreigner choose to quarantine at the "free" government quarantine facility?

@transpection , Foreigners are not eligible for the free Government quarantine facilities, they are only available to Cambodian Nationals arriving on a Cambodian passport or foreign passport with K-type Visa. This is all detailed in the official Government directive on Entry Requirements and Restrictions.

That's the problem with many of these articles, they don't provide accurate, concise, and clear information, and as per the PPP article in the OP, incorrect and outdated information.
