About the familybook and residential book, these books don't give the martial statement directly. Yes u can say there is no other man in the book, but that's it. I contact mof in the Netherlands about the problem. But their answers are not clear, they point the finger to something else. Embassy in Bangkok admit this problem., and contacted the mof in the Netherlands. So in these days I get a answDr. But probarly they don't give a 100% solution. So I collect all info, and legalisate the family book and the unmarried certificate I take with me ( unlegalisate) , my gf can write a letter that's she never married before, and Maybe a governmentman can declare that Cambodia don't legalisate a unmarried certification. I have recently flown back in the other direction, only two weeks ago:

I really like Malaysia nowadays. It used to be run by the UMNO "Malay" union -- which is a racial thing that I reject -- but now the "Islamic" political union seems to be taking over. I hope that race will soon no longer matter in Malaysia. Not sure, though. Not all Malay "Bumiputera" seem to agree to drop the racial politics in Malaysia.

Concerning marriage, it is not possible to substract or prevent access, to anybody who voluntarily submits to the law, from the judging Qadiz who grants him the law. Hence, the Qadiz will at some point inevitably have to declare you married, if you insist that you are, and if there are no Quranic impediments to your marriage.

It really depends on what you mean by "getting married".

In a traditional setting, "marriage" means that you ask and obtain permission from the bride's family to have sex with her. The reason why you may have to do that, is because the girl may otherwise simply refuse to have sex with you. So, that is how you may end up paying off the girl's family. If the girl is still a virgin, she probably really means all of this. It may really make sense. Furthermore, if you are sufficiently well to do, the sum required to do that in Cambodia, amounts to peanuts. In that sense, if I really like the girl, I will surely want my peace and quiet, and therefore indeed pay off her family.

I would never pay off anybody else, though. Marriage is governed by the laws of God and nature. Therefore, I would never agree to obey to rules invented by a bunch of filthy heathens, claiming that "a foreigner must make 2500 USD/month in order to marry", or that kind of bullshit. My own point of view is rather that there are too many heathens on the planet at the moment.
