Printer or printing house?
Re: Printer or printing house?
The paper does tend to swell and warp a bit.StroppyChops wrote:Almost every printer I see is like that, and my original question should have included whether the consumables age faster in the tropics.OrangeDragon wrote:Wow... you've got it bad for stroppy. Anyway, the answer to this is "how much will you use it?" I bought a laserjet and the thing has about a quarter inch of dust on it most times...

I'm fairly OCD about printing paper and keep it in the hermetic barrier wrapping it comes in until needed.Soi Dog wrote:The paper does tend to swell and warp a bit.

You misspelled manifesto.StroppyChops wrote:I need to print off some manifest documents (possibly around 30 pages) for customs, along with a few other legal documents that need to be in signed hardcopy for Australian requirements.
I'm trying to decide between buying a small inkjet or laserjet printer and just taking the work to a printing house. I won't have huge ongoing needs for printing, but the convenience of having it on hand is appealing.
Any pros/cons to using a print shop? idea on prices?
Recommendations on where to buy a printer?

Out source
I made the mistake of buying a printer 3 years ago and I am in the OD situation. Tone of dust on the device and if by chance I want to print something need to clean the damn thing first and hope it will work.
The cartridge do clog by the way, that it is why I stop using it, given the price of ink make no sense to buy new one as If I do not print regularly they will clog.
All in all in your case (infrequent but relatively intense use with relatively high demand for quality) the best solution is to outsource. If you trust the shop you can even send the document by email with instruction and just pass by for picking them up.

Emailing the documents to the printer makes sense...ryoon wrote:Out source
