Price on LG split systems?

Post by StroppyChops »

Can anyone give a rough price for new LG split system a/c's in the box? The model is HSNC1865NA8 for anyone who might know their a/c's that well. I'm looking to buy some from Facebook and just checking whether the price is 'real'.

We are buying a few new ones for our house. We (my wife) went hunting around and found some good deals. Let me know if you need info on a new a/c unit.

Cool. You found some useful information. How about sharing it here so others can benefit too?

Thanks Khmerinade - please share.

Our local mate has advised $400 is way too much for this model and at that price we should be looking at Panasonic as they are much cheaper to run. Also, buying new gets warranty and possibly cheaper installation if you negotiate it into the price.

I'm wondering if invertors are the way to go and whether you can buy a one plant two heads combination here.

I'll have to get the exact prices for 1hp and 1.5 hp from my wife when she wakes up. Been doing a lot of family activities around the holiday. The sales ladies were telling us the inverters don't work well if the power fluctuates. For fridge and a/c units I heard the same thing. They both save power, but if you don't have a stable flow your freezer won't keep things frozen and your a/c won't be cold.

By split system, do you mean the normal aircons they have here, or a system which blows cold air into two adjoining rooms?

Split system as in the refrigeration plant outside and the blower unit inside - however I am also looking for the system that has a single refrigeration plant outside supplying two blower units inside, if these exist here.

I've got prices for all the AC units back home, but won't be back to cambodia for a few days. Either way, 400$ for a 1hp aircon is too much, even if it's an inverter (which for that price, I assume it is). Panasonic are generally cheaper, but sometimes LG are cheaper for bigger units (2hp). Weird... If you guys are seriously interested I can give you the name of the best shop in town. I doubt you'd be able to find cheaper elsewhere so it's my one-stop for bigger appliances.
