I'll post more details when I get back on the 28th/28th and have a look at my "book of prices", but yeah, as Logos says, psah Thmei is the place. The best shop is a double (or triple actually) shophouse on the south-eastern side of the market. The all-female staff are more knowledgeable than most other places in town and they wear uniforms. I'll dig out the name when I get back, but I've bought a few refrigerators, washing machines and aircons from them and they're always the cheapest. If you end up going, tell them the tall man who always flirts with the tall Chinese looking girl sent you. They might give you an additional discount (or they might tell you to leave immediately... Hard to tell ;-)).

Panasonic 1.5hp is $495 near Central Market and the Panasonic 2hp cost $660.

Thanks Khmerinade - the assumption is that the bigger motors are cheaper to run and higher output?

Our room is 4x4m and has tall ceilings so the 1.5hp isn't overworking itself and/or freezing over. the 2 h/p is for our living room and doubt will ever be used unless we have foreign guests in March-May.

These sizes were recommended to us by the guy who's serviced our a/c for years.

Found the double-wide with the female staff near Central Market. Did some price shopping around first, found this place to be $5-10 cheaper on all items (exact model matches).

$418 per unit for 1.5hp Panasonic invertor split systems, also picked up a fridge and washing machine, happy with the overall price. Installation on the a/c's is $10 each plus materials, can't argue with that. Spotted your Chinese-looking girl, BKL, decided on a hunch not to mention you - but thanks for the lead.

Mm, and the $10 installation plus materials turned (expectedly) into $105 per unit. I do wish companies would just give the real price up front and not play this game.
