Possible work movement to Poipet
Possible work movement to Poipet
Hi everyone,
I would like to seek your feedback regarding Poipet. I'm a Filipina who will be relocated to Poipet for work related to online gaming. I would like your help for some information on my concerns below:
* What is the medical process of working permit for expats (i am diabetic and hypertensive)?
* How's the cost of living such as internet, water, electricity, groceries, telecommunications?
* What is the mode of money remittance to the Phils?
* Are the people nice especially the locals of Cambodia and Thailand since this is the border?
* How is the healthcare such as hospitals and doctors?
I do apologize for such questions, your answers will be of great help to me in considering the relocation to Poipet. Thank you in advance and God bless!

Border areas are always full of dodgy people.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Agree with JB. Poipet is known as a gambling and drug town, so up to you if that's a good place to live. Cambodian people are mostly good people and nice to foreigners but low-life are always found hanging around in casino cities.
As for medical facilities, they are very poor in Cambodia in general. I would not advise sick people to relocate here. However, there is the Royal Angkor International Hospital in Siem Reap which has a good reputation, and you would not be far from Thailand if you had a medical emergency.
