My partner produced the document from the bush sangkat where I have resided for five years. I took along this paper, my passport with copies of the bio page and latest visa. The office faces the riverside on the eastern side of the Justice Dept building. We parked on the corner of 240 and walked through the building to the far side. Walked past the girls on the left, opened the door and found Mrs Kimluch in a crowded little office with several other Khmers.
I apologised for no original passport or visa and she asked me what year I entered the country. My tuk tuk agent failed at completing the form so Mrs Kimluch offered to do it for me in English for a total of 290,000 riel. She gave me a receipt with her phone number on and told my tuk to return with the receipt on the 19th of October. He was not required to complete a form for this.
All very brisk and efficient. My relief was overpowering.
Mrs Kimluch was surprised that I asked for her, and asked me how I knew of her.
