Pharmacopoeia: Assisted Sleeping
Re: Pharmacopoeia: Assisted Sleeping
Stroppy,
It almost sounds like a pain management issue that is making you sleep lousy. Might I suggest Codalgin Forte. It is Paracitimol/ Tylenol and Codine. It is readily available for about $4.00usd for a box of 20. Take that before you got to bed especially if you have had a couple of cocktails. No pain and sleep like a baby. Codalgin Forte is made in Australia for all those worried about who makes the drugs. Try it it works great.

I'd rather not name the pharmacy but shopping today in a certain popular (and always busy) pharmacy near Phsar Olympic that is preferred by the cognicenti (it's an mporter and wholesaler too?) had exactly what I was looking for.
Rivotril = clonazepam
0.50 mg
sold as individual pills from a bottle of 100
apparently a comicated venture
manufactured in Spain
imported by a Thai company
from a Swiss company formula
Vendor would not write me an official receipt )no oroblem for other items I bought). Clearly something illegal going on here. Thank goodness.
But the real downside is price. $1 each! That's $4 for 2 mgs, what pharmacy row on street ___ east of Phsar (Tom) Thmei. sells for half that. Or less.

think this must be the longest wiki-entry ever seen for a drug.

link for med reviews...

You can look ip a drug and purpose for which it is taken. The website provides a broader and larger user review base than this forum could possibly ever do. My only question is whether it is populated by shills (paid posters). I am skeptical of 'wow, best thing since sliced bread' Most things have pluses and minuses.

Re: Pharmacopoeia: Assisted Sleeping
oh, its taken for sleep management...
even though, it doesnt mention this in the wiki-article..
but this is really heavy stuff and not free of side-effects.
a normal immuno-suppressant should do the same trick, when it comes to pain?

Re: Pharmacopoeia: Assisted Sleeping
Thanks. I have pain management issues and 'disturbed mental state' issues in which my brain wave activity does not drop into REM cycles or circadian rhythm without chemical assistance - I literally remain awake indefinitely, although it become a drunken-like state after 36 hours or so. Great for driving a tuktuk in Phnom Penh.picooie wrote:Stroppy,

It was originally developed as a heart medication, until test subjects started reporting a side effect.potty wrote:haha... viagra is good for the heart...

clonazepam ('Rivotril') after 4+ year absence
Cautious I took only half of low dose pill (0.50 mg/2= 0.25) of clonazepam by Roche (as 'Rivotril')
- Definitely relaxing but took 40 minutes to take effect. And this on an empty stomach.
- Slower pulse
- Not the floaty emotionless dull calm of a narcotic like oxycodone.
I suppose I should have gone with the flow and gone to sleep but I was mentally active online.
- Oddly some restless leg/periodic limb movement that haven't had for a long time
- Sleep came quickly but I didn't remain asleep.
- Woke up suddenly and became mentally active for five hours in middle of night
- Went back to sleep but woke to bizarre disassociation dream and visual hallucination.
- Twitches in spine
- Feel strange when woke in night, and I don't have a problem staying asleep, just falling asleep (although sleep clinic 30 years ago said after all night with wires on my head that I wake multiple times in night from deep sleep)
- When I fall asleep again after an interruption (room repairman) I have many strange fearful active dreams. Nightmares really (very rare for me)
- I sleep yet another eight hours and feel groggy (passes in 15 minutes)
And this is all from a half pill of the lowest dose pill.
Maybe a coincidence, maybe need to take twice the amount (to sleep 'like a log' I used to take 1->2 mg, if using regularly 2.5). Maybe clonazepam doesn't agree with me.
The next day at a rather early hour for me (8:30 pm) I bevame overwhelmed with tiredness, fell asleep, but woke up 3 hours later. Even the *next morning* very groggy. Had to have coffevwhich I never drink. A buddy in Vietnam os on this routine - *pam pills to sleep at night, caffeine in morning. Strikes me as unhealthy.
So, the18->50 hour half-life of clonazepam is doing its work of screwing up my nervous system.
Based on this one late readoption experience, I Prefer kava.
