ophthalmologist
ophthalmologist
Is there one or more in SKV. Not looking for a optician. They only dispense. Not so competent for a complete eye exam.
I purchased new specs from Phnom Penh Optics & after two weeks constant wear & constant headaches, blurred vision, vertigo only to be told that is normal. After 60 years of spectacles the new normal isn't working for me. Distant vision fine. Reading, computer, any close work is disorienting.
I tried the search function for ophthalmologist only to be informed it can only handle words up to fourteen characters. I'm one over the limit. Funny that.

Re: ophthalmologist
Have you tried SV Expats Fb page ?
As a matter of interest, are your glasses progressive lenses ? They can take some time to adapt to and some people don't manage at all.

Thanks Anchor Moi. I'll give FB a go.
I've worn progressive lenses long long time. Prolly since there has been. Never had such an abysmal adjustment period. Frustrating & annoying. I'll return again to dispensary & have them test me with & without. I think I have been over corrected Rt. eye.

Thank for the reply. However I only read of Dr.'s in SR, PP, &BB. None for Sihanoukville. Did I miss something?
Re: ophthalmologist
Bi Luigi,
That's a detail I overlooked. Sorry but to my limited knowledge he's the only qualified ophthalmologist I'm Cambodia. Here's the post I referred you to I'm else someone can use it.
Dr KONG Sunly is a fully qualified ophthalmologist and fully supported by the RANZCO (Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists) which attests to his high standards and qualifications.
And entirely by coincidence, I've just come off line with Sunly!
He is coming to Phnom Penh on 9th or 10th April to meet with me and to collect some items I am bringing up from Australia which he and his also supported colleague and full ophthalmologist, Dr TOUK Barang, at Sreisophon need.
But for the benefit of others on forum who may in the future need Dr KONG Sunly's services, his home and private practice in Siem Reap is at:
# 519, Tep Vong Street, HP/Cell Phone Number 012 781 981
Stung Thmei Village
Siem Reap
