OpenNet Pay First Install Next Day?

Post by deviantinfamous »

Hi, just inquired with Open Net regarding their Fiber Optic connection. They asked me to pay 139 USD for 1 year and require payment FIRST then said they'll install the next day. Is this SOP with Open Net? Just afraid of getting scammed since this is my first time working in Phnom Penh

I used opennet in my last apartment and found them to be pretty good. Very few downtimes and when I did have an issue they always came out the same day (it usually turned out to an issue with something my landlord had done rather than the fault of opennet)

As far as I remember i paid the guys on the same day they installed it.

They are good. Get them to download their app on your phone then its easy to make a complaint, see your payments ,etc.

I've used them for years and found them to be reliable, and as above they come quickly if there's any issue.

When I connected, I went to their office and paid at 9am and their installer arrived and strung up the fibre at midday. And as JB says they are very responsive if you have any issues.

It's pretty weird for Cambodia, but those guys usually show up the same day there's any problems. In our case it's never been their problem, when we were having the power cuts EDC was physically cutting all the wires in our area weekly, I'd call them and say " hey those jackasses cut the wires again" and they'd be right out.
up to you...

I have been with opennet for years.

Moved many times.

Never a problem - same day online.

Get yr engineers phone number. Pay him a few bucks. He's always online - max downtime even if line cut is 1 hour. likes beer too. :beer3:

And as with other good tradesmen , and the opennet guys , show your appreciation by making a donation when they have finished the job. We dont want to see them leave and work as tuk-tuk drivers cause they can make better money.

Damn right... I have to persuade them that a few bucks is good. then the argument over who should pay goes down the beer garden and its an even split. then when a problem comes we can fix quick quick and down the beer garden again. our wives think we work real hard. :beer3:
