They send it to VFS, using DHL.Doc67 wrote: ↑Wed May 17, 2023 8:24 amFirstly, congrats.Freightdog wrote: ↑Tue May 16, 2023 5:35 pm Success, of sorts. After 9 1/2 months, I received an email today confirming that my lad’s passport has been issued. All it needs to do now is get to Cambodia. They quote 3-6 weeks, could be longer. What with national strike actions, cyber attacks on Royal Mail, and a largely lack lustre postal service, I wonder how long this will really take?
What breed of flying rat makes the best courier pigeon?
Aren't they sending it back to VFS, assuming that's where the process started? Otherwise, it will be sent to the address you applied from in the UK.
They cant seriously be considering sending it via Royal Mail to Phnom Penh Post Office?
You get a message/email saying it has arrived and the days/times you can pick it up. No need to make an appointment. Take your passport to establish ID.

That's assuming this process began with an application sent via VFS. FD's email does not sound like a standard VFS email when it quotes 3-6 weeks.armchairlawyer wrote: ↑Wed May 17, 2023 9:47 amThey send it to VFS, using DHL.Doc67 wrote: ↑Wed May 17, 2023 8:24 amFirstly, congrats.Freightdog wrote: ↑Tue May 16, 2023 5:35 pm Success, of sorts. I’ve little idea what they seriously consider. They are not being particularly communicative.
But, for now I have the statement that they’ve issued it.
I had a fairly candid conversation about 2 weeks ago with a fella from customer services about the progress on the application. It became quite apparent that his opinion of their performance was pretty low. Maybe as low as my own.

The email was from Liverpool referral office, of the HMPO in the UK. The passport will be sent to VFS in Phnom Penh. Along with all the supporting docs. On the upside, I should be home when it arrives, if as previously mentioned it comes via DHL.
