i was not trying to attack the OP. my sincere apologies for it seeming that way. re reading i am guilty.
however, the behaviour is truly foolish.
i bet there are thousands of these kind of places in KH.
ridiculous to think an individual barang can change a whole culture- anyway- it is their country- leave the running of it to them.
disclaimer: i have never been in such an establishment, nor wil i go- it is not my style or preference.

Thanks Jamie, great work! At least it's good to know there wasn't anything outrageous.Jamie_Lambo wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2018 6:50 pm So i looked into this, spoke to some people who have in fact been there and were presented Vietnamese girls

I really don't think there are 100's of brothels like this, I know Cambodia and Phnom Penh pretty well and
I think that's pure fiction. The khmers have their brothel areas which are in plain sight like in Sihanoukville.
In Phnom Penh the streets are completely dead at night and I've seen a couple small scale places like in the white buildings.
but those were'nt really hidden. I know these places existed in the past a lot more, but I don't think they do anymore.

I totally agree with you, but I think the CPU and Human trafficking get most of their leads from regular mongers whofrank lee bent wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2018 7:01 pm i was not trying to attack the OP. my sincere apologies for it seeming that way. re reading i am guilty.

don't want to see kids or slaves in these places. I think the women in this particular place are locked up 24 hours. That's just wrong.

Rubbish, You have been reading too much hype. I know that women are incarcerated against their will but here in Phnom Penh women are generally working un coerced because they need the money. I have worked here for more than 20 years and quite often in this particular area, and often with government collaboration. I'm sorry but your sounding like an ill informed tourist and to be honest you do more harm than good in dealing with these situations. If you want to help and make a difference join a bonafide organisation.superferret wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2018 9:20 pmI totally agree with you, but I think the CPU and Human trafficking get most of their leads from regular mongers whofrank lee bent wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2018 7:01 pm i was not trying to attack the OP. my sincere apologies for it seeming that way. re reading i am guilty.

After reading this I seriously doubt you are who you claim to be. Why would I be doing harm by trying to do something about women possibly held captive by traffickers?Kuroneko wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2018 11:23 pmRubbish, You have been reading too much hype. I'm calling BS on your story Kuroneko, you sound more like a monger than an NGO worker.
