MRI's and Radiology

Post by Just Another Dave »

After being hit up many times for my opinion (which is anecdotal and not based on evidence) I'm now going to ask the audience for definitive advice.

1. Is there a proper MRI (installed and maintained properly with trained staff) in Phnom Penh?

2. Are there western certified Radiologists in Phnom Penh to analyse the MRI's afterwards?

3. Please confirm that there is no nuclear medicine in Cambodia, including for scans.

Over to all and Sundry

Cliniqu Somphop Panya is listed as a Maternity Clinic and Beauty Salon. Just wondering why you picked that. Have they expertise in other areas they don't mention?

I went to Central Hospital for some tests earlier this year, and they referred me to Somphop Panya for the MRI. It cost $160.
I don't know who I saw there, but the envelope with the images says, Prof. Kong Sonya, Specialiste en Radiologie et Imagerie Medicale.

Ok, that makes sense, they have CAT but I don't think they had MRI. That's what I like about Central, If they are not sure they will bring in a consultant or refer. Central have done quite a bit for me dealing with some fairly serious conditions. They always give good quality service at really good price.
