What good school is there in Kampot?

No idea what living conditions are like in the SSEZ, but it might be a bit of a ghost town right now if it's anything like Sihanoukville city. Things are in a state of flux. Let us know how it goes, OP.

Right now it's pretty much business as usual there, slightly lower, not much. That could change quickly if they run out of raw materials though.
There are some fancy ($179k) places for sale right outside the entrance, I don't know about renting. The area, named after the small village it grew around is Betrang.
Good luck op, that commute to pp is gonna suck though.
That area is changing rapidly,, they're filling in all the paddy from there to the airport for building. And work is continuing there currently, unlike many places in snooky.

by good, i mean better than the local khmer school, Kids seem to be learning an its only a few hundred/month

I just looked and it seems there is an international school in Kep as well

There aren't any that would be suitable for Expat kids who have been going to school in their home country or proper International schools their entire schooling years...the best school in that area would be the Kep International School.

the ones in Kampot are in Khmer/english while the Kep school is english

My daughter went to a Montessori school till 4th grade before transferring to an international school
$2,738 for a 4 year old ( includes lunch) not to bad

For School, go Descartes.
I had my boy there from age 3 to 6, it's a better French school than in many other asian countries, and better than many private French schools in the homeland. Around 4500 $ a year though.
They have very good infrastructure, also a great care team, a psychologist with a specialty into autistic spectrum which is rare, and an orthophonist (which might be handy as many languages are spoken in the playground time, and might be confusing in some cases / non French neither Khmer mixed couples etc). They have assistants for special need kids, and their program and activities through the year are well combined into a happy and fruitful educative path for everybody.

Worth every dollar.

Knowledge here is costly, but the price to pay with ignorance is far worse.

In two clicks, and about 30seconds, I’ve gained more info about that school than I managed to obtain after 2 terms, and 5 physical visits to Westline! And westline in Daun Penh are well ahead of the other schools we’ve sampled in the last year.

Actually, Westline are doing a pretty good job, so far, let down mostly by their admin staff, hence information is a teeth pulling process.

Thank you to everyone for the responses and input.

Yes, the plan is for me to work in the SSEZ while my family is on PP so the kids can go to school. Mainly the oldest because of elementary school options. She is attending a private independent Montessori school now so full English or French/English would both work

The pace was to work for 2 weeks and then fly or drive back for 4-day weekends. That way we’d have time to travel during those weekends. I know flights from SHV can be fairly pricey, but the company is covering my travel needs to and from PP as well as around the SSEZ.

We like the urban lifestyle, but she will come visit ahead of time for a week to see the schools and housing options as well as get the lay of the land.

I don't think a flight from Sihanoukville to Phnom Penh will be much faster than a car.

Look at Kep than . international school,very low key area, 3 hours to SNV> and you can bring ur groceries over every 2weeks :-

why stick them in a crowded city??
Northridge is a crazy expensive school ( like $24,000 for kindergarten-- EL 4 $8,000 less ) an (in my eyes) not needed for a 4 year old, but if ur heart is set on it and ur company is picking up the bills, they offer homes/apts there for rent ..so no commuting...
